Staff Report
The Effingham County volleyball team swept a match with Liberty County and fell 2-1 to Jenkins on Tuesday.
The Lady Rebels beat the Lady Panthers 25-17 and 25-21. Crystal Mitchell had nine digs and one kill, Tayler Weaver had six digs, Holly Nance had three kills and two blocks, Haley Cox had nine digs, Erica Odom and Erica Orr each had two kills and Taylor Colmer added two aces. Courtney Purcell and Rineta Rainey each had one kill, and Jillian Nance had an ace.
ECHS beat Jenkins 25-18 but fell 25-20 and 25-22 to the Lady Warriors. Rineta Rainey had five digs and two kills, Rebecca Rollins had three kills, four digs and eight assists, Hillary Usher had four kills and four digs, Mitchell had eight digs, Nance had five kills and two digs, Orr had two aces, and Orr, Odom and Weaver each had one kill.
Effingham will visit Brunswick on Sept. 7.
