ECHS takes five firsts at track meet

Effingham County High School’s track teams had five first-place finishers at the Georgia Game Changers Apex Invite track meet at Richmond Hill High School on Friday, and South Effingham had two firsts. South Effingham’s Darius Scott won the triple jump at 43-0.5, and Bryce Griggs won the 800-meter run in 2:04.78. Griggs was third in the 1,600 and Hams Ames was third in the 3,200. Trevon Wilkerson of ECHS took first in the high jump, and Richie McKnight took the 110 hurdles in 16.2 seconds. Joe Lee was second in the discus, Justin Dolata was fourth in the 3,200 and the Rebels 4x100 relay team also placed fourth. Lamonee Johnson was fourth in the 200, just in front of McKnight. Ian Foster was fifth in the steeplechase and Nicholas Granstrom was sixth. Nick Stahl took sixth in the 300 hurdles. ECHS’ Olivia Brown took the girls 100 hurdles in 16.68, Quadasha Perry won the 200 dash at 26.16 and the 4x100 relay team posted a winning time of 49.78 seconds. Brown also was second in the 300 hurdles, while Deja House was second in the 400, and Mayte Davis was second in the discus. Brown added a third-place in the long jump, Marina Van Sickle was third in the 1,600 and fourth in the 3,200, and House also placed third in the 800. Genellreya Washngton was foruth in the 200, House was fifth in the triple jump, and Haley Casey was fifth in the 1,600. Rashea Williams of South Effingham was second in the triple jump. The Lady Mustangs’ 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams each placed fourth. Allie Ergle was fourth in the 100 hurdles, Williams added a fifth-place in the 200, Erin Goudeau was fifth in the discus and Cason Smith was sixth in the 200.
